Tammie Stevens
Corporate Education Specialist & Lead Instructor Educator
With more than 40 years of beauty industry leadership—including 39 years dedicated to cosmetology education—Tammie Stevens brings an unmatched depth of real-world expertise to the classroom. A former salon owner and school founder, Tammie has spent the last 17+ years on the Corporate Education Team at Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology, preparing future instructors for South Carolina licensure and leading national educator training sessions through AACS/CEA.
Tammie’s influence shapes the profession at the highest levels: she is a past president of the South Carolina Association of Cosmetology Schools (SCACS), a member of the South Carolina All-Industry Council, a certified Milady and Prosper U Trainer, and a recipient of the Milady Trailblazer Master Educator Certificate. Her practical insight is woven directly into the curriculum across the country, having served as a reviewer and content contributor for the newest edition of Milady’s Professional Educator textbook, where she is featured in the Educator Spotlight. Guided by her foundational teaching philosophy—“Keep it Real. Keep it Fair. Keep it Fun”—Tammie delivers a dynamic, high-engagement 45-hour Methods of Teaching course designed to build confident, inspiring, and fully licensed educators.
Steven Dawson
Director of Compliance & State-Approved Methods of Teaching Instructor
Bringing more than 23 years of institutional leadership, regulatory mastery, and classroom instruction to the program, Steven Dawson provides candidates with an essential command of educational compliance, instructional delivery, and state standards. A former secondary educator holding a degree in Industrial Mathematics, Steven pairs rigorous pedagogical structure with decades of practical executive experience across postsecondary beauty education. His influence is felt in classrooms nationwide: he is recognized in the newest edition of Milady’s Professional Educator textbook for helping redefine its structure and content, as well as serving as a key content reviewer.
Steven’s leadership shapes cosmetology policy and curriculum at both state and national levels. He served six years as a NACCAS Commissioner—culminating in his tenure as Chairman of the Commission—participated in more than 26 accreditation on-site evaluations, and has conducted educator training on the national stage for the Cosmetology Educators of America (CEA). In South Carolina, he serves on the Board of Cosmetology Regulatory Review Task Force, represents the state on the AACS State Relations Committee (16 years), and moderates a professional network of over 2,600 South Carolina licensees. Holding Milady Trailblazer, Advanced, and Master Educator certifications alongside the national AACS Spirit of Service Award, Steven equips aspiring instructors with the regulatory confidence, classroom authority, and elite teaching strategies required for South Carolina licensure.
Barbara Padget, BA with Honor-Secondary Education
Curriculum Specialist & State-Approved Methods of Teaching Instructor
Bringing over two decades of dedicated Methods of Teaching instructional experience and a distinguished background in secondary education pedagogy, Barbara Padget equips future cosmetology educators with foundational instructional techniques, lesson design, and classroom management mastery. A Clemson University graduate in Secondary Education and longtime Curriculum Specialist for Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology, Barbara served as an Academic Evaluator for the National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts and Sciences (NACCAS) and has helped instruct South Carolina’s 45-hour licensure course since 2000. Her pedagogical expertise directly influences beauty education nationwide: she was recognized in the Milady Professional Educator textbook for helping redefine its structure and core content, in addition to previously reviewing Milady’s Business Fundamentals.
A multi-time Teacher of the Year award recipient and former National Board Certification Evaluator, Barbara has delivered advanced educator training across the state, including Milady Master Educator continuing education courses, digital portfolio instruction, and Dale Carnegie-grounded institutional workshops. Alongside her work in education, she is a dedicated community and civic leader: a commissioner with the Lexington County Soil and Water Conservation District since 2007 (appointed by the SC Department of Natural Resources), she has served as Secretary of the South Carolina Association of Conservation Districts, currently serves as its East Piedmont Director, and sits on the steering committee for Envirothon, an international high school environmental competition. Barbara translates decades of high-level instructional design, civic leadership, and educational theory into practical teaching habits that give future instructors complete confidence in the classroom.

Class dates for 2027 Session: January 10th and 11th, January 24th and 25th, January 31st and February 1st
Please Note — You must attend all six days for 45 hours of credit. Failure to attend the first day and missing more than one day will result in an automatic rollover to the following class session. All classes are held at the Kenneth Shuler School: 172 McSwain Drive, West Columbia SC 29169. However, we reserve the right to change the location if necessary.
Payment Options – All payments are through Cash App
Any convenience charges from any transaction will be your responsibility.
Option #1 – Early Bird Special – SAVE $250
Total cost – $1250 with this special. This amount includes your books and digital access. To qualify – you must make the following payments by the following dates:
- November 20, 2026 – pay a total of $500.
- Paying $250 now will reserve a spot as long as the remaining $250 balance is paid by this first installment.
- If you do not meet the deadline above, you will automatically be rolled over to Option #2.
- January 4, 2027 – pay the remaining balance of $750.
- You may make payments along the way towards your balance in amounts of $100 or more.
Option #2 – Regular Plan
Total Cost – $1500. This amount includes your books and digital access. To qualify – you must make the following payments by the following dates:
- December 18, 2026 – pay a total of $500.
- Paying $200 now will reserve a spot as long as the remaining $300 balance is pay by this first installment.
- January 4, 2027 – pay the remaining balance of $1000.
- You may make payments along the way towards your balance in the amounts of $100 or more.
