Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology is proud to announce that one of its very own graduates, Lauren Price Mazza, worked with emerging designer Lisa N. Hoang (LNH) at New York Fashion Week! Lisa debuted her Spring/Summer 2017 collection on Friday, September 9 at 2:00 p.m. at The Gallery, Skylight Clarkson Sq venue in West Soho. (Click here to see her show!)
Lauren graduated from Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology’s St. Andrews Road campus in Columbia in 2010. Since graduation, she has gone on to become Redken Color Certified and is also a Redken Specialist and a Redken National Artist. Currently, Lauren works as a stylist at Gore Salon in Irmo. Lauren met Lisa on the popular social media site Instagram earlier this year and the pair hit it off immediately. Lauren, along with three other Kenneth Shuler graduates, helped to make Lisa’s models’ hair look runway-ready.
“It is an honor as a stylist coming from a small town to have such an amazing opportunity. I’m very gracious to those who have helped me through this journey. It is surreal to me still that I have this opportunity to be in the big world of fashion,” said Lauren, who was raised in Prosperity, SC, as she was preparing for her trip.
Each year, hundreds of students graduate from Kenneth Shuler’s eight campuses with either a license in cosmetology or esthetics. Most of these individuals go on to work in a salon or spa, but school leaders hope Lauren’s story shows that anything is possible with perseverance.
“We are so excited to have Lauren work with an up-and-coming designer at New York Fashion Week! There are so many great facets of the beauty industry that our future graduates can obtain with hard work and aspirations. Over the years, we have seen our graduates do great things and Lauren’s success just adds to it. And to think, it all starts in beauty school!” said Garrett Shuler, the Executive Director for Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology.
Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology was honored to serve as Lisa’s Visionary Sponsor as she pursued her dream on one of the fashion world’s most notable stages alongside industry giants such as Tory Burch, Michael Kors, and Vera Wang.
Lisa’s line featured ready-to-wear transitional pieces with romantic details that easily go from day to night. The collection is available for order on the LNH website (http://www.lisanhoang.com).
